Plain English. Last updated 16 September 2026.
The short version. A pupil types their name and their answers. The answers are sent to an
AI service to be read, and the result is shown to the teacher who set the check. There is no
advertising, no tracking and no analytics of any kind. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.
What is collected
- The pupil's name - whatever they type when they join. It does not have to be a full name;
a first name, or a first name and initial, is enough for a teacher to know who is who.
- Their answers to the teacher's questions, and the questions themselves.
- What the AI made of the answers - the reading the teacher sees on the results card.
Nothing else. No photographs, no dates of birth, no addresses, no school records. Pupils do not
have accounts and do not log in.
What happens to it
- It is sent to an AI service. The questions, the answers and the pupil's name are sent to a
third-party model provider (through OpenRouter) so the answers can be read and marked. That is a
transfer of the answers to another company, and it is the whole point of the tool - without it
there is no marking.
- It is stored on the server that runs this site, in a single data file, so the teacher can
open the results. It is not encrypted at rest.
- The teacher who set the check can see it, and can change the colour a pupil was given.
Who can see it
The teacher who set the check, and the AI provider named above. Nobody else. There is no public
page, no search, no directory and no sharing link.
How long it is kept
- It stays until it is deleted. A teacher can delete a check or a whole class from the results
screen, and that removes the answers with it.
- This site runs on a free hosting plan, and a deploy erases all stored data. Treat anything
held here as temporary.
- Teacher accounts are separate: an email and a password, stored hashed, and a sign-in cookie that
keeps a teacher logged in for 30 days. The cookie is not used to track anyone.
What is not done
- No advertising and no adverts of any kind.
- No analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data with anyone beyond the AI provider above.
- No profiling of pupils, and no decisions made about a pupil by a computer alone.
If you are the teacher
- Only put in what you need. A first name is enough.
- The wording the pupils see is: their answers go to their teacher and to an AI that helps read
them.
- The colour is guidance, not a judgement. The AI can be wrong in both directions, and you can
change any colour by hand.
- Your school's own policy comes first. If it does not allow pupil answers to be sent to an
external AI service, do not use this tool with pupil data.
If you are a pupil or a parent
Your teacher set this check. What you type is seen by your teacher, and by the AI that helps them
read it. If you would rather not take part, say so to your teacher - you do not have to use this.
Getting something removed
Ask the teacher who set the check. They can delete it from the results screen.
